Advanced Steps
Firmware Update
Before doing any further evaluation, updating your THSCU101 Firmware is strongly recommended. How to check the version numbers and to replace with the latest Firmware is explained here.
Note: Some USB hosts might not meet the USB spec to support BESL (Best Effort Service Latency). These hosts might not stream images over USB2 with our standard firmware that supports the BESL requirement. Please contact us to request firmware that will work with those hosts if needed for your application.
UVC (USB Video Class) Configuration
Partnering with Infineon, the UVC capabilities of THSCU101 are scoped to support variety of commercialized final products. In other words, the THSCU101 is supposed to work as a USB Camera in the market. Therefore, well-designed software should be able to support most of UVC functions listed in the above section that THSCU101 equips.
Extension Configuration
With Infineon’s support as well as THine’s years of experiences assisting numerous customers worldwide, we developed as many as 8 Extension items with variety of choices based on actual market use cases. Also, we developed a POWERFUL tool, Camera Extension Controller (a Windows app), to configure those items. For further information, go to What You Can Do with Camera Extension Controller App.
ISP Firmware Customization
If you need to tune the THEIA-CAM™ image quality and/or customize its ISP functions, you can do it by using our Camera Development Kit (CDK). Further, if you need to use your own selected sensor module, the CDK can help. For details, click Camera Development Kit.
